Take an audio file, load it into Next Generation Software’s NGWave, and it will be displayed as waveform on NGWave’s interface. You can then use NGWave’s interface to access multiple audio editing functions: crop part of the audio file, insert silence, change the volume, modify the pitch, and more.

NGWave should work just fine with any version of Microsoft’s Windows operating system. A setup wizard will help you install NGWave on a PC that runs Microsoft’s Windows OS. When you’re done with the installation and you launch NGWave for the first time, you will be asked to view a Getting Started guide. Said guide provides useful information about NGWave’s features and about audio editing in general.

NGWave has a tabbed interface. Load multiple audio files and tabs for each one will be displayed down in the bottom left hand side. Every audio file you load into NGWave is displayed as waveform. From the Options menu, the Display submenu, you can customize this waveform display. From the same Options menu you can change the interface’s color scheme, access some more display options, and play with multiple settings that govern how NGWave works.

As mentioned at the start of this article, from NGWave’s interface you can access multiple audio editing functions: play selection, loop playback, crop, insert silence, convert to mono, record, change volume, normalize volume, filters, echos, tone generator, time and pitch shift, and more.

NGWave is not free, it is only free to try. The evaluation version, which can be used for 30 days, allows you to try out all the application's features but it does not allow you to save files. The evaluation version may not be used for commercial purposes.

Go get Next Generation Software’s NGWave audio editor and use it to edit any audio file you want. NGWave provides easy access to lots of handy editing functions.

Pros

Little time and effort will go into installing NGWave on a Windows PC. NGWave has a tabbed interface that can be customized; said interface is very easy to use. NGWave has lots of useful audio editing functions ot offer.

Cons

Trial limitations: 30-day trial, nag screen, save function is disabled.
